Key to Column Headings

ST = The standard two character postal abbreviation for the state. County = The county the high point is in. If two are listed then it is on the county line. Peak Name = The name of the peak as shown on the topo map or the commonly accepted name. Names in parentheses are alternate or unofficial names for the peak. CL = The climbing classification of the peak. EL,ft = Elevation in feet. EL,m = Elevation in meters. EL = How the elevation is shown on the map. A BM entry indicates a brass survey monument or benchmark is at the summit. Topo Map (7.5 min.) = The topo map the peak is on. All are 7.5 minute with the exception of Alaska which has a 15 minute map. BM Name = The actual name stamped on the benchmark which appears on the USGS datasheet.

"I thought there were only 50 states, so how come there are 51 entries?" I originally gathered data for both Mount Arvon and Mount Curwood in Michigan since they are only one foot apart in elevation and people were generally climbing both peaks. It has since been generally recognized that Mount Arvon is the true high point, but I have decided to leave in the data for the alternate peak should you want to locate it.
